A b o u t   U s 

Greenfields Farm is based in Cusop, near Hay on Wye at the base of the Black Mountains in the Brecon Beacons National Park.  We care for our mixed herd of horses and ponies and love to ride out together into the mountains.  We have access to summer grazing in the heart of the National Park and in the foothills, making perfect bases for overnight camps and long distance rides between sites.   Our two jersey cows, Lizzy and Matilda, often live out with the herd.

We focus on good, open communication and train with natural horsemanship techniques, positive reinforcement and other gentle methods to work in harmony with our horses.  We enjoy riding bitless and barefoot where possible and seek a natural and rich landscape for our horses to inhabit.  We understand the therapeutic value of spending time with equines and we hope to learn from them.  We aim for a true partnership, based on trust, gratitude and respect.

Summer 2022: We are just beginning the evolution of Greenfields Farm into a beautiful community resource where we hope local people will come together to grow and care for the land and animals.  We are envisioning community gardens, allotments, a forest garden, shared cow care & ethical dairy, tree planting, a poly tunnel, social activities and so much more.  Watch this space!
